Nursing care of a patient COVID-19 with pneumonia.

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study the Nursing care of a patient COVID-19 with pneumonia. A 77-year-old Thai female patient presented to the outpatient department on June 5, 2024, with significant symptoms including fever, dyspnea, inability to lie flat, and chest tightness for one day before hospital admission. The patient had a history of coronary artery disease in 2017, underwent balloon angioplasty for three vessels, and had been following up with regular medical appointments.
     Results: Before the examination, the patient was at risk of hypoxemic tissue due to decreased respiratory efficiency and discomfort from fever. The patient was also at risk of myocardial ischemia and viral transmission complications. Both the patient and family expressed concerns about the condition worsening and the risks associated with transferring the patient to an isolation room. Upon medical evaluation, a COVID-19 infection was confirmed, and the patient developed pneumonia as a complication. The patient and family remained anxious about the potential for deterioration. Nursing care was provided according to outpatient care standards, ensuring the patient's safety during the transfer to the isolation unit. The patient was safely admitted to the isolation ward and was discharged on June 15, 2024, following a 10-day hospital stay.
