Participatory Process for Traffic Accidents Prevention among Village Health Volunteers, Takdaet Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital Wangsaphung District Loei Province.

This research was Action Research study aimed at examining the level of participation of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) in traffic accident prevention, as well as developing and evaluating a participatory process model for traffic accident prevention by VHVs in Tak Daet Subdistrict. The population and sample consisted of 69 VHVs. The research instruments included a questionnaire on participation in traffic accident prevention and a structured questionnaire for focus group discussions. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis, descriptive statistics, and the Paired T-Test.
The research findings 1) The level of participation in traffic accident prevention in the community before the development of the participatory model was found to be low overall among the sample group (= 1.41, S.D. = 0.255). 2) The developed participatory model for Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) in traffic accident prevention comprehensively aligns with the 5 Pillars approach, which includes Road safety management, Safe Road infrastructure, Safe vehicles, Safe Road user behavior, and Post-crash response. 3) After implementing the model, the sample group showed a statistically significant increase in their mean participation score in traffic accident prevention at the 0.05 significance level.
