Improving the Participation for Caring the Elderly Health among Village Health Volunteers,Ban Hai Health Promotion Hospital, Panna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province.

The action research aimed to explore the participation for caring the elderly health and to compare the participation for caring the elderly health among village health volunteers in Ban Hai, Rai Sub-District, Panna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province before and after study. The sample were 30 village health volunteers who experienced in caring elderly health in Ban Hai, Rai Sub-District, Panna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The quantitative data were collected using using the Elderly Health Care Participation Questionnaire. Content validity was checked by 3 experts and validity was determined using Cronbach alpha coefficient 0.89. Data were collected between January 20th, 2025 to February 28th, 2025. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and pair t-test. The level of statistical significant was set at 0.05.
The study found that 7 steps of improving the participation for caring the elderly health included 1) classify the health status of the elderly in the assignment and responsible area; 2) clarifying the role of village health volunteers ; 3) conducting a course training to improve the capacity and skill of elderly care; 4) the division of responsibilities according to the plan of elderly care in the community; 5) collecting the elderly health data and monitoring of operations; 6) summarized meeting to apply the model of elderly health care in the community.; and 7) coordinating with external agencies to involve and care the elderly health. The result of average score of knowledge of elderly health care, before and after study, was .001 statistically differently. The mean score of participation was .001 statistically differently.
