Development of long-term care service for elderly with dependency in Muanmon Subdistrict, Somdet District, Kalasin Province.

This study was action research aimed to study problems, develop and use long-term care service system for dependent elderly in Moomon Subdistrict, Somdet District, Kalasin Province. Samples size was 103 elderly with dependency. Data were collected using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Research tools consisted of qualitative by focus group discussion questions, individual care plan form, care plan assessment form and adjustment form for individual care plan and quantitative by general information questionnaire, problems, needs of the elderly, and quality of life measurement form. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test before and after development. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.
Research results found that the level of problems decreased, the level of need for help of the elderly decreased, and the level of quality of life of the elderly improved, with statistical significance at the .05 level (t = 8.10, 6.01, 7.38, respectively). Conclusion and discussion of results Should promote the use of budgets from the local area,hinting at network partners, promoting knowledge of caregivers, and developing specialized personnel to care for the elderly in the community, so that it can be successful.
