2 Case study : The Holistic Nursing of Sepsis secondary to pneumonia Kalasin Hospital.

Abstract

      This study was case study of a 78-year-old male patient with underlying diabetes who was referred from a community hospital for On-ET-Tube. Another case study involved a patient with limited communication using On-ET-Tube at Kalasin Hospital. He presented with symptoms of cough with sputum and shortness of breath. A chest X-ray revealed infiltration in both lungs. The physician diagnosed lobar pneumonia with sepsis.

      The study results showed that nursing care planning was divided into three phases: the initial admission phase, ensuring adequate oxygen supply to prevent hypoxia and administering intravenous fluids according to the treatment plan; the continuation phase, which monitors for potential complications, including patients at risk for respiratory tract infections, patients at risk for various complications, and patients with stagnant bloodstream due to decreased kidney function and the potential for complications from prolonged stays; and the discharge phase, which includes discharge planning, self-care instruction upon discharge from the hospital, and explaining the importance of health care to patients and their families. This includes attending scheduled doctor visits and follow-up physical examinations to prevent recurrence.
