Developing the potential of personnel in patient care and continuous treatment at home (Home ward), Na Kae Hospital, Nakhon Phanom Province.

Abstract

      This research was action research. The objectives are to study the situation of patients at risk according to the criteria for receiving continuous home care (Home ward) and to study the development of personnel potential in following up and caring for patients in continuous home care (Home ward) at Na Kae Hospital, Nakhon Phanom Province. The research period was between July 2025 and December 2025, a total of 6 months. The sample consisted of hospital personnel involved in caring for patients receiving treatment in the home ward system of Na Kae Hospital during the period between July 2025 and December 2025, a total of 6 months, in 7 disease groups. Data were collected by questionnaires. Data were analyzed by content analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Dependent t-test to compare the potential of personnel in following up and caring for patients in continuous home care (Home ward) before and after the implementation.

      The results revealed that the overall and specific capabilities of providing home care services in accordance with the guidelines and standards for home care (Home Ward) of the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, were at the highest level after implementation. The level of capacity for providing inpatient care at home (Home Ward) according to the guidelines and standards of the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, before and after implementation showed a statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level. The level of capacity for providing inpatient care at home (Home Ward) according to the guidelines and standards of the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, after implementation was better than before implementation.
