Factors Associated with 30-Day Readmission in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Padang Besar Hospital

This survey research by retrospective study aimed to investigate the incidence and predictive factors of 30-day readmission among COPD patients at Padang Besar Hospital. Data from 321 patients discharged during fiscal years 2023–2025 were analyzed using Chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression.
The results revealed a 30-day readmission rate of 24.3%. Significant independent predictors (p < 0.05) included a history of intubation (aOR = 3.12), GOLD stage E (aOR = 2.58), hospitalization in the previous year (aOR = 2.25), and current smoking (aOR = 1.95). Conversely, influenza vaccination was identified as a protective factor (aOR = 0.58).
