Nursing Care in Peritoneal Dialysis Related Peritonitis Case Study 2 Case.

Abstract

     This study aimed to 1) provide guidelines for developing a training program for new peritoneal dialysis patients and 2) provide nursing guidelines for peritoneal dialysis patients with peritonitis. This was a case study of two patients admitted to Kalasin Hospital between March 2026 and March 2026. A literature review and related research were conducted, data were analyzed to plan and implement nursing care, and the study results were summarized to identify problems encountered in patient care and to find solutions.

     The study found that both peritoneal dialysis patients presented with similar symptoms of abdominal pain and cloudy dialysis fluid. They were hospitalized for antibiotic treatment. Patient 1's culture revealed a Gram-negative infection, and treatment was ineffective, requiring the termination of peritoneal dialysis and temporary hemodialysis. Patient 2's culture revealed a fungal infection, requiring surgical removal of the dialysis catheter and temporary hemodialysis.
