Development of guidelines for enhancing self-health care behaviours among people in Wang Sam Mo District, Udon Thani Province

The objectives of the research and development were to develop the guidelines for enhancing self-health care behaviors of people in Wang Sam Mo District, Udon Thani Province by studying the situations and problem of self-health care behaviors with 388 samples. The development of guidelines for enhancing self-health care behaviors guidelines among 20 participants purposively recruited and evaluation in 388 samples and guidelines were evaluated by 25 experts. Data were collected by using rating scale of health promotion behavior questionnaires and a semi structure interview, the questionnaire assessing the suitability of health promotion guidelines. The tools had a consistency value between 0.67-1.00 and the confident value was 0.87 and 0.85. Data were analyzed using statistical method comprising frequency, percentage, Mean SD. The hypothesis’ tests were compared the differences of the healthcare behavior scores before and after the guidelines implementation by using the statistics of pairs t-test. Content analysis was used to analytic interview data.
The results of the study were: The guidelines for enhancing self-health care behaviors of people in Wang Sam Mo District, Udon Thani Province were 4 approaches: 1) the enhancing food consumption behavior for self-health care 2) the enhancing exercise behavior of people of all ages 3) the enhancing safety behavior in the community 4) the enhancing behavior in environmental health management community. The testing of guidelines suitability was revealed a high level (=4.79; S.D.=0.22) The score of a health care enhancing behaviors before the project implementation among the sample had a mean score of 3.64, a standard deviation of 0.19. and after the project implementation, the mean was 3.82 standard deviation of 0.29. The mean score of the comparison of self-health care behaviors before and after implementing guidelines was found that the significant difference in statistics at the error level not more than 5 percent.
