Effectiveness of Applying the LINE Application to Enhance Medication Adherence in Home Ward among Substance Use Disorder Patients at Phayakkhaphumphisai Hospital, Maha Sarakham.

Abstract

      This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the LINE application model in Home Ward substance use patients on enhancing continuity of medication adherence and side effect monitoring. This Research and Development (R&D) study utilized a before-and-after design conducted from October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024. The sample consisted of 26 substance abuse patients admitted to the Home Ward program. The intervention involved implementing the Line application within the Home Ward framework, which included a 15-day medication dispensing protocol. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages).

      Results: Following the implementation of the Line application, patient access to the pharmaceutical care system increased by 91.43%. Patient medication adherence increased to 88.46%, while medication consistency rose to 96.15%. These improvements reflect enhanced service accessibility, dispensing efficiency, and patient acceptance of Line application-based medication monitoring.
