A Development of Nursing Care Model for Sepsis Patients, Wapipathum Hospital.

This research and development aimed to develop and study the outcomes of a sepsis patient care model Wapi Pathum Hospital Maha Sarakham Province. The research was conducted in 4 phases: 1) situation study, 2) model development, 3) trial and review 4) evaluation. The sample consisted of 2 groups: 83 Sepsis patients. Tools. 1) Patient Care Guide 2) W-S-NEWS: Wapipathum-Sarakham Nation Early warning Score Form 3) Care Plan 4) care plan compliance check form and 5) multidisciplinary team interview form. Data were collected from October 2021 to March 2023. Data was analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, comparison of mean differences with Paired t-test. Qualitative data were used for content analysis.
The results of the study on the nursing situation of patients with sepsis in the bloodstream found that nursing was varied practices, incomplete recording of patient data, inaccurate assessment of W-S-NEWS Score, noassessment for infection sites in risk patients. Nursing care model for sepsis patients included nursing care for patients in the early stages, continuous care period, and before patient discharge. The results of after using themodel, nurse’s knowledge increased, accuracy perform nursing activities increased There was a statistically significant result in nursing care for patients with antibiotic in 1 hour (p < 0.05). The nurses were satisfied with the model.
