Abstract

Agriculturists avoid pesticides to minimize damage. By the use of chemical fertilizers or
chemical pesticides. The use of chemical pesticides consecutive time. Make the soil structure
is destroyed. This approach to improving the soil. Currently, the production and use of biofermentation
to enhance the quality of the soil. And inhibit the growth of weeds without
using chemical pesticides. The purposes of this research were to promotion of biological
control of weeds in rice fermented to sowing, to study and compare the knowledge and
performance the promotion of biological control of weeds in rice fermented to sowing, in
Khok Kong, Khanthararat Sub-district, Kantharawichi district, MahaSarakham. The sample
consisted of 30 residents of Ban Khok Kong used in research. The instruments were
promoting activities handbook, knowledge, and performance questionnaire. The data were
collected with a model of quasi-experimental research being the same samples were tested
before and after the promotion. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean
and standard deviation and compared statistics t-test. The results showed that the activities
of the promotion of biological control of weeds in rice fermented to sowing, were organized promoting to educate knowledge and performance great to promotion of biological control
of weeds in rice fermented to sowing on 2 days. Before the promotion, the agriculturists had
score average of knowledge about promotion of biological control of weeds in rice
fermented to sowing at the good level ( =14.76). After the promotion, the agriculturists
had score average of knowledge a very good level ( =18.43). After the promotion, the
agriculturists had a higher average than before the promotion. Before the promotion, the
agriculturists had score average of performance in biological control of weeds in rice
fermented to sowing at middle level ( =2.32). After the promotion, the agriculturists had
score average of performance at very level ( =2.80). After the promotion, the agriculturists
had a higher average than before the promotion, showed that the promotion of biological
control of weeds in rice fermented to sowing, Khok Kong, Khanthararat Sub-district,
Kantharawichi district, MahaSarakham. resulted in increased knowledge and performance of
the agriculturists.
