THE ROLES OF HEALTH VOLUNTEERS IN THE DENGUE HEAMORRHAGIC FEVER PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN MUENG DISTRICT PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICE NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

The purposes of this study were to investigate the roles of health volunteers in dengue
haemorrhagic fever prevention and control in Mueng district publichealth office Nakorn
Pathom province and the effect of various personal factors (sex, age, education, duration of
work, training, Surveillance and Rapid Response Team and dengue awareness information) to
their roles in dengue haemorrhagic fever prevention and control. The sample from crosssectional
study comprised of 331 health volunteers in the regional health board, Dontum Hospital. The instrument was a constructed questionnaire. The statistics used for data
analyzing were percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test , F-test and LSD
(Least Significant Difference).
The results of the data showed that the roles of health volunteers in dengue
haemorrhagic fever prevention and control was high level. Surveillance and Rapid Response
Team played a role in dengue haemorrhagic fever control and prevention (p-value = 0.05)
Whereas, sex,age, education, work period, training and dengue haemorrhagic fever perception
had no significant difference.
