Abstract

his quasi-experimental study This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effects of a telephone follow-up program combined with home blood pressure measurement by village health volunteers on health behaviors and blood pressure levels of hypertensive patients. Two sample groups were 1) 17 village health volunteers responsible for the care of hypertension patients and 2) 45 hypertension patients, conducted between October and December 2022. Tools used The data collected were the general information questionnaire of the village health volunteers, the village health volunteer skill assessment form for measuring blood pressure at home. a questionnaire on general information and health status of patients with hypertension and health behavior questionnaires in patients with hypertension The tools used in the experiment was a telephone follow-up program combined with home blood pressure measurement by village health volunteers. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Comparative analysis of the mean scores, health volunteers' skills, health behaviors in patients with hypertension. and health status of patients with hypertension before and after using the paired t-test. The study results are as follows:
As for the volunteer volunteers, it was found that the mean scores of home blood pressure measurement skills of volunteer volunteers after the experiment were significantly higher than before the experiment (x ̅=41.35, S.D.=1.04 vs x ̅=38.41, S.D.=2.71, p-value<0.001). As for the patients, it was found that before the experiment, most of the patients with hypertension had behaviors at a moderate level, 82.3%, followed by 13.3% that needed improvement, and Good level 4.4%, respectively. After the experiment, it was found that most of them had behaviors at a good level of 64.5%, followed by a moderate level of 33.3%, and a level that should be improved 2.2%, respectively. Overall health behavior after the experiment was significantly higher than before the experiment (x ̅=3.62, S.D.=0.38 vs x ̅=3.92, S.D.=0.32, p-value<0.001). that the mean systolic blood pressure after the experiment was significantly lower than before (x ̅=128.76, S.D.=11.47 vs x ̅=124.89, S.D.=8.05, p-value=0.043).
This study suggests that the efficiency of the follow-up telephone visit together with blood pressure measurement at home by village health volunteers can be applied in the development of a guideline for non-communicable disease clinics to reduce overcrowding in patients. sick Shorten the waiting time and increase the convenience of accessing services but can still maintain the standard of service for patients with chronic non-communicable diseases
