Abstract

     The purposes of this research to study assessment and find development process for Thanyaburi District Health Office, Pathumthani province, according to Public Sector Management Award Criteria. The Action Research method was used to investigate three areas: preparation, assessment organization, and development of guidelines and strategies to implement to the Thayaburi district health office. 3 data collections have been organized review. A focus Group of 10 Thanyaburi District Health Officers (co-researcher) and 56 survey forms from consumer and stakeholders were used. Descriptive statistics were used analysis.

     The results of the Thanyaburi District Health Office evaluation showed that there was agreement between focus Group and opinion surveys of consumers and stakeholders regarding management quality. The assessment of the Thanyaburi District Health Office using the Public Sector Management Award Criteria was similar between focus Group and consumer survey. Overall was given a high score. However, in a comparative subgroup, the highest average score was the Human Resource group. The Strategy Formulation group, the Leadership group, and Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management group, Operations focus group and Results based Management group were given a high score. The medium score was in the group of Customer Service Relations and the Stakeholders group. The subsequent included the following components: delegation of key tasks, and setting a                   jobdescription, Obtaining consumer and stakeholders satisfaction evaluation with follow up and job assessment, competency building , knowledge, and information management.

     The suggestion from this study is to focus on the development plan. The success of an organization depends upon the policy set-up by executives and they should be key people involved in development. The employees should be dedicated and co-operate in the development plan, and until accomplishment for set goals.
