Nursing care of patients with acute myocardial infarction with complete heart block : A case study

Objective: To study the nursing care of patients with acute myocardial infarction with complete heart block
Case study: A 53-year-old Thai monk was admitted to the accident and emergency room of Phra Narai Maharaj Hospital on 17 January 2022 with symptoms of right chest pain, hypothermia and hyperthydrosis for15 minutes before going to the hospital. The patient was checked with electrocardiogram (EKG) and it found inferoposterior infarct and complete AV block. The doctor diagnosed that the patient had a disease of inferior wall acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) with complete heart block. In pre-medical examination, patient was uncomfortable with chest pain. In medical examination period, patient had myocardial infarction due to lack of blood supply to the heart muscle, a risk of cardiac arrest, a risk of unstoppable bleeding due to the use of fibrinolytic drugs. After medical examination, patient has a fear because it is a life-threatening condition. In the emergency room, patient felt well, vital signs: temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius, pulse of 56 beats/min, respiratory rate of 22 beats/min, blood pressure of 98/60 mm Hg. Then patient was the patient was transported to Ananda Mahidol Hospital for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The patient had no complications and was then discharged on January 26th, including a hospital admission of 9 days.
