Factors affecting Self-care behaviors of diabetic patients who use services at Don Tum Hospital. NakhonPathom Province. This research aimed to study 1) the self-care behavior of diabetic patients receiving service at Don Tum Hospital. 2) the relationship between personal factors and self-care behavior of diabetic patients receiving service at Don Tum Hospital., and 3) the relationship between predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors and self-care behavior of diabetic patients receiving service at Don Tum Hospital. The research samples were 210 diabetic patients and risk group people receiving service at Don Tum Hospital., selected by
using simple random sampling. The tool for collecting data was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, and Chi-square test.
The research results were as follows:
1. The self-care behavior of diabetic patients receiving service at Don Tum Hospital. was overall at medium level. When considered individually, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was diet, followed by medication. And the prevention of complications and the exercise, respectively
2. Personal factors related to marital status, duration of diabetes mellitus were related to self-care behavior of diabetic patients receiving services at Don Tum Hospital. The study was statistically significant at 0.05 level, gender, age, education level, occupation and average monthly income. There was no relationship with the self-care behavior of the diabetic patients.
3. There was positive relationship with statistical significance at 0.05 level between a perception of predisposing factor, an access of health service unit of enabling factor, and a receiving social support of reinforcing factor and self-care behavior of diabetic patients.
