Nursing care of patients with life-threatening acute myocardial infarction : a case study

Objectives of this study are i) to investigate the prognosis, treatment and nursing, and ii) to compare the differences between 2 case study patients with acute myocardial infarction. Each of two case study patients were specifically investigated since June 2015 until July 2016. The results from 2 patients with acute myocardial infarction showed that the first case of 70 years old came in with the symptoms of chest compression and not refer pain for 1 hour before arriving at the hospital. He had a history of COPD with continuing treatment at the hospital. Then, the patient was received an intravenous thrombolytic drug which cause temporary cardiac arrest. After the patient was cured he was get 5 nursing care programs from problem list and successful reperfusion. We unable to PCI him, so we transfer to another hospital. The second case with age 47 years old with no congenital disease came in with
the symptoms of pain at left chest, abdominal pain and dizziness around 30 minutes before arriving at community hospital. At there, the patient still have chest pain with ST elevation and ST depression of EKG. The patient was then received thrombolytic drug and admitted at ICU. He received 4 nursing care programs from problem list and successful reperfusion. We observed his response for 2 days at ICU before transfer him to normal ward and send him back home at day 5. After 2 weeks, he was scheduled for cardiac intervention investigation.
