Factors Influencing Happiness in Work Place of Professional Nurses in Community Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

     The purpose of this research were to study the level of happiness in the workplace and the predicting factors of happiness in the work place of professional nurses at Community Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province. Participants of the study were 262 the professional nurses at Community Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province. who were recruited by Stratified sampling technique. Questionnaires were used as research instruments consisting of four parts: 1) personal factors, 2) balance between life, work and family, 3) environmental factors happiness work place of professional nurse and 4) happiness in the work place of professional nurses. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression.

     The results of the study revealed that the level of happiness at work among the subjects was found at a medium level ( gif.latex?\bar{x} = 3.61, SD = .50). For considering aspect by aspect, the highest average was the enthusiasm for work ( gif.latex?\bar{x} = 3.98), enjoyment of work ( gif.latex?\bar{x} = 3.66) and comfort at work ( gif.latex?\bar{x} = 3.18) respectively. The results of predictive factor analysis revealed that work environment (β = .53), work experience (β = .18) and work-life balance (β = .20) were able to predict happiness at work. professional nurse in community hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province 50.60%
