The Health Behavior Modification Village Model Development in COVID-19 Prevention with Participation in Ban Kham Pom Community, Moo 4,12 Khua Reang Sub-District, Chum Phae District, Khonkaen Province

The model development of the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village through community participation in Khua Rieng sub-district, Chum Phae district, Khon Kaen province was conducted by a participatory action research study. The research was divided into 3 phases. The first phase was to study the context of the problem of COVID-19 prevention in the community. The second phase was to develop the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village model through community participation in Khua Rieng sub-district, Chum Phae district, Khon Kaen province. And the final phase was to evaluate the development of the developed model. The contributors and research participants consisted of 40 representatives of households; 32 village health volunteers; 2 representatives of community leaders; 2 sub-district administrative organization officials; and 2 sub-district health promoting hospital staff. Data was gathered using a knowledge and behavioral survey, a questionnaire, a satisfaction assessment, and a group discussion on COVID-19 prevention. The tools had been thoroughly examined by three experts. The reliability was determined using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which was 0.92. Quantitative data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data.
Result: 1) Developing the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village through community participation by implementing the five principles as follows: committee, fund, activities, screening, and quarantine. 2) Evaluating the model development of the village model for COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification through community participation, we found that (1) there were no cases of COVID-19 during the study period, (2) overall the community's participation in the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village development was at a high level (Mean 3.86±0.59), and all aspects were also at a high level, (3) the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village development process was overall at a high level (Mean 3.88 ± 0.67) including all aspects, (4) the overall level of satisfaction with the COVID-19 prevention behavioral modification village development process was at a high level (Mean 4.12 ± 0.51), and (5) a comparison of the mean scores of COVID-19 prevention basic health literacy was found to be significantly higher than before participation (p-value = 0.027), and COVID-19 preventive basic health behaviors were significantly greater than ever ability to participate (p-value < 0.001).
