Factors related to complications from general anesthesia in post-operation among patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the recovery room, Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat hospital

This study was cross-sectional descriptive study. The aim was to study incidence and correlation of postoperative complications in laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients with general anesthesia in recovery room. Sample group consisted of 75 gallstone patients who received laparoscopic cholecystectomy under interested conditions. Data were collected by questionnaire. Personal information was by using descriptive statistics and correlation was analyzed by using Chi-square and Fisher’s exact test.
The results showed that the majority of the samples were females, with 62.70% and aged between 61 and 70 years old with 28.00%. American Society of Anesthesiologists. (ASA) Level 3, Anesthesia time less than 150 minutes, 500 ml Intravenous Infusion and surgery time less than 100 minutes were 40.00%, 82.70%, 66.70% and 60.00%, respectively. For complications after receiving general anesthesia were include nausea and vomiting was 26.70%, hypothermia was 16.00%, shivering was 8.00%, delayed awakening was 2.67%, and oxygen deficiency was 1.30%. ASA class, duration of anesthesia, intravenous fluid volume and operating room duration were associated with complications after receiving general anesthesia in cholecystectomy patients in the recovery room at statistical significance level P-value< 0.05.
