Factors related to self-care behaviors of the elderly Moo.1, BanPa Khiap, Pa khiap Sub-district, Khu Mueang District, Buri Ram Province.

Abstract

            The study was a  survey  research.  The  objective  of  the study was to  study  factors  that  related to  self-care  behaviors.  The  subject  group consisted of 96 cases.  The  developed  questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data. Statistics were descriptive and inferential statistics.

         The result revealed that: the majority of subjects ware female 65.5%, aged between 66-70 years old were  28.1 %,  married were 59.4%,  income lower  than  1,000  bath / month  were   67.7%,   knowledge  factors  about self-care  behavior  among  the elderly  were  high level  99.0%  ( =  2.99; S.D = 0.10 ),  attitude  factors,  enabling  factors,  reinforcing  factors  were high  level  76.0 %   ( = 2.76;  S.D = 0.42),   the  factors   that  added  to  the self-care behavior of the elderly were high level 82.3%  (=2.78;  S.D=0.50) And  factors  of self-care behavior of the elderly were at a moderate  level. 99.0% ( =1.99;  S.D =0.10)  and there were a positive  correlation between history of disease and self- care behavior at significant level < 0.05
