Health Literacy Factors Influencing on Health Behaviors 3E 2S of Population in Mueang sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province.

Abstract

          The objective of this cross-sectional analytical research was to exami ne Health Literacy Factors Influencing on Health Behaviors 3E 2S of Popul ation in Mueang sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province. The samples were 432 selected by multi-stage sampling including proportional and simple ra ndom techniques.  The research instrument was questionnaires consisting of cognitive and Decision skill used KR-20 with a confidence value of   0.72 and 0.70   Access,  Communication skill,  Self management,  Media literacy and Health Behavior 3E 2S.  using coefficients Cronbach's Alpha with conf idence values at 0.76,  0.86,  0.80,  0.84 and 0.78 respectively.  The statistical analysis was number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, maxi mum, minimum, and linear multiple regression analysis.

          The results showed that most of the samples were female (59.0%), av erage age 39.46 ± 11.09 years, Most of them were primary school, 53.7%, an d 57.4 percent were engaged in agriculture.  Most of them had middle level of Health Literacy (63.2%).  Most of them had middle level Health Behavior s 3E 2S (78.9%).  Health Literacy Factors Influencing on Health Behaviors 3 E 2S were Communication skill (p-value < 0.001, β = 0.152),  Self manageme nt (p-value < 0.001, β = 0.088), Cognitive (p-value < 0.001, β = 0.048) and Me dia literacy (p-value < 0.001, β = 0.059).  The results of this study can be use d to develop guidelines for enhancing health literacy and health behaviors 3E.  2S.  of people in order to focus on solving non-communicable diseases in the community.
