Factors Affecting Infectious Waste Management Behavior of Health Service Network Personnel Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province.

Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive research the objective is to study the Factors Affecting Infectious Waste Management Behavior of Health Service Network Personnel Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province. Sample group of 248 people using purposive sampling. The instrument used in the research was a knowledge questionnaire using the KR-20 with a reliability of 0.78. The reliability of the attitude questionnaire was 0.78. Perception of the risk of disease Motivation in the performance of public health personnel and behavior in managing infectious waste. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used. Reliability values were obtained at 0.79, 0.83, 0.78, 0.85 and 0.89 respectively. Statistics used in data analysis were multiple linear regression analysis.

           The results of the study found that the sample group was 81.0% female, 55.6% were in married status. Their average age was 42.01±9.66 years, 56.0% graduated with a bachelor's degree, had an average of 10.76±11.01 years of experience working with infectious waste, and had a high level of infectious waste management behavior, 89.5%. Factors affecting behavior Manage infectious waste of Mueang Sukhothai District Health Service Network personnel. A total of 3 variables were obtained: attitude about infectious waste management (p < 0.001, β = 0.519), knowledge about infectious waste management (p < 0.001, β = 0.483), perception of risk of disease from Infectious waste (p< 0.001, β = 0.424). Together they were able to predict the infectious waste management behavior of personnel at 42.8%. The results of the study can be used in infectious waste management and creating work procedures. Concerning the management of infectious waste to be appropriate for the resource management of the district health network and public health service unit.
