This descriptive research aimed to study association between health literacy and behavior of blood pressure control among hypertension patients. Sample size consist of 374 hypertensive patients and sampling was simple random sampling. Data collection used questionnaire composed of 3 parts; including characteristic, health literacy and behavior of blood pressure control. The quality of the questionnaire was tested for content validity by three experts, and reliability was tested using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, yielding a reliability value of 0.902. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient, with statistical significance set at a p-value of less than 0.05. An association analyzed found that health literacy was associated with behavior of blood pressure control among hypertension patients, with statistical significance (r=0.443, P-value<0.001). Therefore, the researcher plans to use the findings from this study to design interventions that promote blood pressure control behaviors for hypertensive patients at the Hypertension Clinic, Outpatient Department, Chiang Saen Hospital, Chiang Rai Province.
