Factors Associated with Health Behaviors among Type 2 Diabetic Patients in Bangriang Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital, Thapput District, Phang Nga Province

Abstract
This descriptive research aimed to study factors associated with health behaviors among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Population consisted of 131 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Bangriang Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital, Thapput District, Phang Nga Province.
The sample size calculated Daniel's formula for 108 cases, and systematic random sampling was determining. Data collection used questionnaires composed of 3 parts including, characteristic, health perception and health behavior. The instrument was validated for content validity
by 3 experts and subsequently pilot-tested to assess reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, yielding a value of 0.902. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient at
a significance level of 0.05. The results revealed that the health perception had mean score in high level (89.81%) (=2.89, S.D.=0.303), and health behavior had mean score in high level (96.30%) ( =2.96, S.D.=0.190), respectively. An association analyzed show that health perception was associated with health behavior among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with statistic significant (r=0.258, p-value=0.007).
