Abstract

This research aimed to study and analyze the competition patterns in the Women’s 3x3 Basketball Finals at the 32nd SEA Games. The sample consisted of the Vietnamese and Philippine national teams, selected through purposive sampling. The variables studied are 1) competition duration. 2) Movement skills 3) Jumping patterns and 4) Scoring. The primary data collection tool was video footage of the finals, which was analyzed using a data recording table developed by the researchers. The key findings revealed that the most frequently observed skill in 3x3 basketball was jumping, followed by changes in direction and forward-backward movements, with sprinting at maximum speed being the least observed skill. The most successful scoring pattern was two-point scoring. The play-to-rest ratio showed that both teams had an average ratio of 23:12 seconds, with the highest recorded ratio being 65:26 seconds and the lowest 3:7 seconds. These results provide insights into the physical and strategic demands of women’s 3x3 basketball at the elite level.
