Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study results and compare the effect of plyometric training on double legs jump between before training and after training of male basketball players studied in Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. The sample group was fifteen male basketball players from Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University selected by purposive sampling. Duration of the training was 4 weeks, which was 2 days per week 2 on Monday and Friday. They were trained in 5 positions per day, 30 minutes each. The research tool was plyometric training program created by the researcher. Statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation and pair sample t-test. The results showed that; 1) mean and standard deviation of the double leg jumping ability of male basketball players before training was 53.47 and 4.22 respectively, while after training, it was found that the mean was 57.80 and the standard deviation was 4.06, and 2) comparison of the mean differences of the double leg jumping ability of male basketball athletes between before training and after training, there was a statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level. In conclusion, plyometric training on double leg jumping ability of male basketball players, can affect the athlete’s double leg jump to increase.
