EFFECTS OF BADMINTON LEARNING MANAGEMENT USING MIXED TRAINING MODEL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS AND MOVEMENT SKILLS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AT CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY DEMONSTRATION SECONDARY SCHOOL

Abstract
This study aimed to 1) compare physical fitness and movement skills before and after the intervention, and 2) compare physical fitness and movement skills between the experimental group and the control group after the intervention. The sample consisted of 50 ninth-grade students selected through purposive sampling and divided into two groups: an experimental group receiving badminton instruction using a mixed training model, and a control group receiving conventional instruction. The intervention was conducted over a period of eight weeks. The research instruments included eight lesson plans, a physical fitness test, and a movement skills test, all of which demonstrated high content validity. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, paired sample t-tests, and independent samples t-tests at the .05 significance level. Effect size was also reported using Cohen’s d. The results revealed that the experimental group showed significantly higher physical fitness and movement skills after the intervention compared to before the intervention (p < .05), with moderate to large effect sizes. Furthermore, the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher physical fitness and movement skills than the control group after the intervention (p < .05), with moderate to large effect sizes. Conclusion: The mixed training model is effective in improving students’ physical fitness and movement skills, with both statistical and practical significance. This approach can be applied to enhance physical education instruction and support the development of students’ physical performance and movement skills at the secondary school level.
