Model of public health volunteers in caring for elderly development in Na Dee Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province.

Abstract

     This study model of public health volunteers in caring for elderly development in Na Dee Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province. Aimed to investigate the health literacy and understanding of village health volunteers in elderly care, and to examine the model for developing these volunteers in this capacity. The study was conducted as action research from December 2025 to March 2026, a total of four months. The sample consisted of 115 village health volunteers in Na Di Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province, selected through purposive sampling and divided into two groups: 54 volunteers in the first group and 61 volunteers in the second group. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using content analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, and dependent t-test.

     The study results showed that the health literacy and comprehension level of village health volunteers in caring for the elderly in Na Di Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province, after the implementation of the program, were at the highest level overall and in each aspect, with no significant difference between the first and second cohorts. However, when comparing the health literacy and comprehension level of village health volunteers in caring for the elderly in Na Di Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province, before and after the implementation of the program (Cohort 1 and Cohort 2), it was found that there were statistically significant differences at the .05 level both overall and in each aspect. The health literacy and comprehension of village health volunteers in caring for the elderly in Na Di Subdistrict, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province, after the implementation was better than before the implementation.
