The development a care model for enhancing quality of life dependent elderly in Khaendong District, Buriram Province

This action research aimed to study the development a care model for enhancing quality of life dependent elderly. The study applied an action research approach. The samples consisted of 3 groups: 1) 33 network participants selected by purposive sampling 2) 141 dependent elderly selected by purposive sampling and 3) 68 caregiver selected by stratified random sampling. Quantitative data was collected by the questionnaire, WHOQOL–BREF–THAI and focus group discussion guidelines. Data was collected between April to September 2026. Data analysis was performed by descriptive and comparative analysis was performed by paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05. Qualitative data using content analysis.
The research findings the showed the developed model comprised 7 components : 1) Holistic Assessment, 2) Individualized Care Plan, 3) Family Empowerment, 4) Holistic Rehabilitation, 5) Proactive Home Care, 6) Community Network Collaboration and 7) Continuous Monitoring & Evaluation. After implementation of the model, the knowledge and caregiving practices for dependent elderly level of caregivers significantly increased (p-value<0.001). And dependent elderly had the level of quality-of-life scores showed a statistically significant improvement, as compared to before intervention (p-value<0.001).
