Abstract

This study is a cross-sectional analytical study. The purpose to study the level of self-care
behaviors of non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetes Self-Care Behavior of Elderly People with Type
2 Diabetes Not Dependent on Insulin. And to study the relationship of self-care behaviors among non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The sample group consisted of 75 people
in Sri Pattana Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, Yodkaeng Subdistrict, Namon District, Kalasin
Province.
Methods: The samples were collected by using interviews formulated by the study and
verified by the experts. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics for percentage, mean,
standard deviation. minimum and maximum values. In relation to self-care behaviors noninsulin
dependent diabetes mellitus type 2. Analyzes of chi-square test and Peason’s
Product Moment Correlation Co-efficient for related analysis for analyzing the relation at the
level of statistical significant of 0.05
Results: The results showed that self-care behaviors of elderly patients with type 2
diabetes on high levels. The BMI correlated with the self-care behaviors of the elderly with
type 2 mellitus patients at the 0.05 level of significance (gif.latex?^{x^{2}} = 5.19, p-value = 0.02) and
knowledge about diabetes was statistically significant at 0.05 (r = 0.307, p- value = 0.007).
