A STUDY OF MOTIVATION FOR STUDYING IN SPORTS SCIENCE PROGRAM OF CHANDRAKASEM RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the motivation for studying in sports science at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University. The subjects were recruited 217 from a total of 497 sports science students in grades 1-4 by purposive sampling. The questionnaire was used to collect data which was consisted of 5 aspects in 38 items for asking about the motivation of choosing to study sports science program, Chandrakasem Rajabhat University. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation) were used to analyze the data. The results revealed that the motivation for choosing to study sports science at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, which highest to less ranking were health (4.33±0.78 score), benefit economy and income aspects (4.08±0.94 score) followed by opportunities for future advancement (4.05±0.89 score), honor (3.92±1.09 score) and love , aptitude and interest aspects (3.72±1.08 score) respectively. This research also found that the channel for knowing sports science Chandrakasem Rajabhat University were the 1st rank knowing from friends, the 2nd rank knowing from social media, the 3rd rank knowing from the website and the 4th knowing from guidance teachers. This finding could be utilized or used for decision making in the development of activities or courses, including public relations channels
