Screening and Scoping Health Impact Assessment from Food Safety Operations in Pattani Municipality, Muang District, Pattani Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to screen and scope health impact assessment from food safety operations in Pattani Municipality, Muang District, Pattani Province. Document review was employed. Moreover, in-depth interviews with 5 people in charge of sub-projects and focus group discussions with 30 stakeholders were conducted. A purposive sampling method was employed for selecting the participants. The results of the public screening revealed that there should be an impact assessment to develop recommendations and increase the effectiveness of food safety operations. In addition, the results of the assessment should be used to improve food safety projects in Pattani Municipality.

The results of public scoping revealed that the scope of the content and the indicators according to the Ottawa Chartered Framework in  5   aspects: 1) development of personal skills, 2) strengthening community activities, 3) conducive environment adjustment, 4) public policy creation, and 5) system and mechanism adjustment. The results of the public screening and scoping will be used to assess the impact of the projects related to food safety operations in Pattani Municipality, Muang District, Pattani Province.
