The Operational Models According to the Roles of District Health Offices after Decentralization by the Ministry of Public Health, Songkhla Province.

Abstract

This study relied on research and development to examine the situation; create the models; and examine the suitability as well as feasibility of operation according to the roles of district health offices after decentralization by the Ministry of Public Health, Songkhla Province. The samples included 151 public health officers obtained by purposive sampling, i.e., 1) 16 Public Health Executive, 2) 16 Public Health Executive Assistants 3) 8 representatives from the Public Health Association of Thailand, 4) 3 Executive Positions of Provincial Public Health Office. 5) 1 representative from NHSO, and 6) 107 public health officers from district health offices. The data was collected by literature review, the questionnaire, the interview form, focus group, and group discussion between October 2022 to March 2023; and then analyzed by descriptive statistics and content analysis.  

The results revealed that the model 1) Prepare a joint strategic plan. 2) Memorandum of Agreement on Joint Operation of the Network. 3) Supervise and supervise the standards of Primary care service. 4) Appoint a District Health Coordinator. 5) Support health literacy and information systems. 6) Develop the District Public Health Office as a unit of health promotion services or services of Thai traditional or alternative medicine.  and the result of the inquiry, opinion, and feasibility. Suitability for development as a service unit It was found that the model of the health promotion service unit (±SD.;4.54±0.49) and the model of Thai traditional and alternative medicine services (±SD.;4.47±0.65)
