Factors related to access to health services for female sex workers in the area of Samnak Kham Subdistrict, Sadao District, Songkhla Province.

Abstract

This research the objective is to study the level of access to health services. and factors related to access to health services for female sex workers in the area of Samnak Kham Subdistrict, Sadao District, Songkhla Province. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study from June to November 2023. The sample group was Female sex workers, 447 people, simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, including a general information form. Health and healthcare problems Perceiving the risk of getting sick Perception of health benefits and access to health services Data were analyzed using simple logistic regression and multiple logistic regression.         

The research results found that Overall access to health services for female sex workers is at a high level, 60.85 percent. Factors that are related to access to health services for female sex workers in the area of Samnak Kham Subdistrict, Sadao District, Songkhla Province include age (OR_adj. =3.60, 95% CI = 1.84-7.03) ethnicity (OR_adj. =11.84, 95% CI = 4.50-31.12) work experience (OR_adj. =3.01, 95% CI = 1.02-8.90) congenital diseases (OR_adj. =0.04, 95% CI = 0.01-0.15) health service facilities (OR_adj. =3.36, 95% CI = 1.91-5.90) Access to services for minor illnesses (OR_adj. =5.68, 95% CI = 3.09-10.43), perception of health benefits (OR_adj. =6.45, 95% CI = 3.96-10.51), and perception of health status (OR_adj. =10.36, 95% CI = 5.81-18.47).
