Selected Factors Associating with COVID-19 Prevention Behaviors among Emergency Medical Personnel: a Systematic Literature Review

This study was a systematic review aiming to study and analyze selected factors associating with COVID-19 infection prevention behavior of emergency medical personnel in Thailand during the COVID-19 epidemic situation. These factors included knowledge, attitudes, COVID-19 prevention motivation, and social supports. Factors were obtained from reviewing of literatures, theories, and research studies, both published and unpublished in Thai and English between 2019- 2022, A tool developed by the researcher was used to select studies, the quality of which were assessed by using standardized tools developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. Data were analyzed by summarizing, analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting the results on the following issues: meaning, components, and assessment tools. The results of the study found that factors related with COVID-19 infection prevention behavior including knowledge of COVID-19, attitude on COVID-19 prevention, protection motivation to prevent COVID-19, and social support. Results from this study provided useful information for further research to study factors relating to infection prevention behaviors of emergency medical personnel in Thailand during the COVID-19 epidemic. In addition, the results can be used to develope disaster response programs or practice guidelines on other emerging epidemics for emergency medical personnel and involving interdisciplinary personnel.
