Effectiveness of Structured Nursing Interventions on Clinical Outcomes and Nurse Competency in Acute Myocardial Infarction Care: a Systematic Review

This systematic review aimed to synthesize empirical evidence on the effectiveness of structured nursing intervention models on clinical outcomes and nursing competency in the care of patients with acute myocardial infarction (Acute Myocardial Infarction: AMI). A systematic literature search was conducted between September 2025 and November 2025 following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, using the databases PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, ThaiJo/TCI, and Google Scholar. The quality of included studies was appraised using the tool developed by Heller. From the 11 studies that met the inclusion criteria, structured nursing practices, including fast-track service systems, were found to be highly effective in reducing critical treatment times, such as door-to-ECG and door-to-needle/PCI intervals. Additionally, nursing competency enhancement programs and clinical supervision played a significant role in improving nurses' knowledge, skills, and confidence, indirectly contributing to faster and more accurate clinical decision-making. The findings underscore the necessity of integrating system development with personnel development to improve the quality of AMI/STEMI patient care in emergency settings.
