Abstract

Thailand has the 9th highest mortality from road traffic injury in the world, the 1st place in Asia, the 1st place in ASEAN, ranked by World Health Organization. Majority of the victims are motorcycle riders injured from road crashed. These cause enormous economic loss to the country. According to the review of Thailand ’s status against voluntary global targets for road safety risk factors and service delivery mechanism, it is found one important factor that even though Thailand has Road Safety Administration Center as a lead agency to prevent road traffic injury, it still lacks continuity in coordination and monitoring among the related stakeholders. The next 5th national master plan for road safety 2022-2027 is aimed to reduce the road dead toll in the year 2021 from 16,494 deaths to 8,474 deaths or 12 deaths per 100,000 population by the end of the plan in 2027 focusing on motorcycle injury, young people, speed control and monitoring.
