THE EFFECT OF TWIST BOARD AEROBIC DANCE ON CARDIORESPIRATORY ENDURANCE FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the cardiorespiratory endurance of Physical Education students before and after participating in an aerobic Twist board exercise program. The sample consisted of 30 undergraduate students aged 18 – 22 years from the Physical Education Program, Faculty of Education, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, during the 2025 academic year. Participants were selected using purposive sampling and had cardiorespiratory endurance at a moderate level or lower. The research instruments consisted of: 1) Twist board Aerobic Dance conducted for 8 weeks, 3 days per week, 60 minutes per session, which was validated for face validity by five experts; and 2) a cardiorespiratory endurance test using the 3-minute step test. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, Paired Samples t-test, and effect size (Cohen’s d). The results showed that 66.67% of the participants were male and 33.33% were female. After the training, male participants demonstrated significantly higher cardiorespiratory endurance than before training at the .05 level (t(19) = -10.59, p < .001, Cohen’s d = 2.35). Similarly, female participants also showed significantly improved scores at the .05 level (t(9) = -6.68, p < .001, Cohen’s d = 2.11). It can be concluded that Twist board Aeorbic Dance effectively improved the cardiorespiratory endurance of Physical Education students and may be applied as an alternative approach for physical education instruction and physical fitness promotion.
