Abstract

This action research aim to develop nursing practice guidelines to prevent venous inflammation in patients receiving intravenous fluids. Inpatient nursing work Ku Kaew Hospital, Udon Thani Province. This an apply the concepts of Chemis and McTaggart, the PAOR circuit, to be developed and applied to work better. The sample group consisted of professional nurses who performed inpatient work of Ku Kaeo Hospital, 13 people and patients receiving intravenous fluids Based on the inclusion criteria, the number was 385 people. Data were collected using 1) a nurse self-assessment form and nursing practice observation form               2) a venous inflammation assessment form 3) a nursing practice knowledge test 4) a nurse and patient satisfaction assessment to follow nursing guidelines which has been verified by 3 experts  and analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation and Paired T -test.

The results found that compliance with nursing practice guidelines Overall, each item was performed every time (Mean = 4.41, S.D. = 0.50). The evaluation of nursing practice guidelines to prevent the occurrence of venous inflammation in patients receiving intravenous fluids, the new method is most appropriate (Mean = 4.27, S.D. = 0.70) and when comparing knowledge in operating according to nursing practice guidelines after Attending the training increased more than before attending the training at a significance of 0.05 and found that venous inflammation of patients receiving intravenous fluids decreased from 2.44 to 0.60 percent. Regarding the satisfaction of nurses and patients with the intravenous fluid administration guidelines In order to prevent the occurrence of phlebitis, it was mostly found that the sample groups were satisfied at the highest and very high levels, respectively.
