Factors Associated with the Effectiveness of Support Services Administration at Hua Taphan Hospital, Amnat Charoen Province.
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study employed a cross-sectional analytical survey research design and aimed to examine the factors related to the effectiveness of support service administration at Huataphan Hospital, Amnat Charoen Province. Data were collected from a sample of 146 personnel, drawn from a population of 234 personnel at Huataphan Hospital, using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been validated for content validity by expert panelists and tested for reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The statistics employed for data analysis comprised descriptive statistics—namely frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation—and inferential statistics, including Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient. In addition, the factors that could jointly explain the variance in support service administration effectiveness were examined using multiple linear regression analysis (Enter Method) in order to determine whether organizational characteristics, work environment characteristics, and POSDCORB administrative factors could jointly account for the variance in support service administration effectiveness, with the level of statistical significance set at 0.05. The study was conducted from October 2025 to June 2026.
The results revealed that the majority of respondents were female (76.03%), with a mean age of 43.08 years (SD = 8.93). Overall, POSDCORB administrative factors were rated at a high level (Mean = 3.94, SD = 0.33), and support service administration effectiveness was likewise rated at a high level overall (Mean = 3.98, SD = 0.32). No statistically significant differences in effectiveness were found among personnel with differing personal characteristics (p > 0.05). Meanwhile, organizational characteristics (r = 0.584), work environment (r = 0.707), and overall POSDCORB administrative factors (r = 0.830) were found to be significantly and positively correlated with support service administration effectiveness at the 0.01 level. Furthermore, the predictor variables were found to jointly account for 73.20% of the variance in support service administration effectiveness (adjusted R² = 0.714), a finding that was statistically significant at the 0.05 level. These findings suggest that the effectiveness of support service administration is attributable to systemic and administrative process factors rather than to the personal characteristics of service recipients, with work environment and budget management warranting the highest priority. Hospital administrators in small community hospitals may apply these findings as a guideline for allocating resources and improving support service administration processes in accordance with increasing workload demands, thereby sustainably enhancing the quality of internal services.
