The development of a treatment and rehabilitation model for drug addicts and Intermediate care with community participation Si Rattana District Sisaket Province, 2023

Abstract

The purpose of this research and development was to 1) develop a working model for treatment and rehabilitation model for drug and substance addicts. (Intermediate care) with community participation Si Rattana District Sisaket Province, year 2023. 2)Evaluate the results of treatment for patients addicted to drugs and substances according to the Intermediate care model. The study was conducted between August - November 2023 with a 2-phase program. First, evaluating basic factors and synthesizing model participants were 12 Srirattana Hospital Executive Committee,21 Srirattana District Health Board (DHB), 15 Person responsible for mental health and drug in Srirattana Hospital and Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital. total 48 people. Second is the development of the model. a purposive Sampling was used for sample selection. 152 Stakeholders in Psychiatric and drug patient ward of Srirattana Hospital and Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, Relatives of patients and community leader. data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including number, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. and content analysis. The results found that the developed model consists of 3 elements: 1) The representatives of network partners from (1) The District Health Board (DHB) (2) the network of experts from the Sisaket Provincial Public Health Office and Thanyarak Khon Kaen Hospital. (2) Participation process consists of  (1) community participation (2) personnel participation and 3) guidelines and elements for setting up a ward, consisting of (1) structure, building, and physical environment (2) medical equipment (3) Health workforce  (4) patient care process. Regarding the results of treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts, there were 64 Cases admitted, 39 cases were discharge, and it was found that 37 cases (94.87%) were able to quit. 2 cases (3.12%) returned to use again.
